How to Eat More, Exercise Less, Live Better, and Lose Weight

Dear "Low Carb: How & Why" readers:

Every once in a while something incredibly special comes along that you want to share with friends and family because you know, without a doubt, it can immediately improve their lives.

I’ve had an opportunity to get an early preview of the new book The Calorie Myth: How to Eat More, Exercise Less, Lose Weight and Live Better, and it’s unlike any health book I’ve ever read. Why? Because it’s a revolutionary and scientifically proven program wrapped in a uniquely persuasive and entertaining narrative.

Based on more than a decade of research and endorsed by top doctors and researchers from Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, and UCLA, The Calorie Myth, by my friend Jonathan Bailor, offers a radically new and scientifically proven model for sustainable weight loss: the key to long-term success is not the quantity of calories that we eat or exercise off, but rather the quality of our food and exercise.

Bailor summarizes more than 1,300 scientific studies to offer us an alternative roadmap to lifelong weight loss and vibrant health. And, in doing so, he exposes the fundamental myth upon which the diet industry has been built: eat less + exercise more = weight loss. The equation simply doesn’t add up! Isn’t it time we forever change the way we think about fat loss and robust lifelong health?

The book will be published December 31, 2013, by HarperCollins. But if you pre-order now, you can gain access to myriad bonuses including a free ebook, recipes, eating and exercise plans, and even videos.

I wholeheartedly endorse this book and look forward to you freeing yourself from frustrating calorie myths. Discover for yourself how simple slim can be!

Dangers of GMOs

It is estimated that over 2,000,000+ people around the globe marched against Monsanto and the use of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in 52 countries and 436 cities in the U.S.A. BEWARE: Labeling of GMO foods, seeds, and other products is not mandated despite people's right to know what they are eating.

GMO is a process of large companies mutating, inserting or deleting genes of one species and adding genes of another species, most typically found in wheat, soy beans, corn, canola, sugar beets, dairy, sugar, papaya, most baked goods and our meats. This is just a small list of common foods that are being mutated, but the practice of GMOs is far reaching. If there is a label (which some responsible producers choose to add to their items) if you see a five digit number and it begins with "9", it is organic. If the series of numbers starts with an "8" or only has a four digit number, it is GMO.

For your own sake and the sake of your family, ALWAYS try to find foods that are 100% organic (but even here the government allows up to 30% of GMOs for a company to claim 100% organic). Make sure there is a logo on what you are buying that certifies and guarantees they are 100% organic, and Look for labels that say "non GMO" or "GMO free". Our digestive system were never meant to eat genetically modified foods. That is all you have to do is to see the drastic increase in certain digestive problems and allergies that people are suffering from to prove this point. There are vast amounts of research being done on the health issues, including cancer, caused by GMOs. You would never choose to eat or drink poison, so don't do it by eating GMOs. The internet is packed full of information on this subject and it is your responsibility to educate yourself on the dangers of unhealthy foods.

PLEASE REFER TO THE NEW "GMO" PAGE OF THE SITE TO GET A LOT MORE INFORMATION ON THIS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SUBJECT!
